Assemblymember O’Donnell Seeks Answers in Long Beach Power Outages
(Long Beach, CA) – Two prolonged power outages hit the Long Beach area in July. Tens of thousands of residents were without power, some of them elderly and disabled. Each black-out was slowly resolved by Southern California Edison. But some residents did not get their electricity back for days. California State Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D-Long Beach) hosted a town hall forum in Long Beach to question utility officials and find out why their response to the emergency was so slow. Assemblymember O’Donnell was joined at the forum held at Cesar Chavez Park, by Assemblymember Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), Chair of the Assembly Utility and Commerce Committee.
